I tried the Elvis burger, which is an off-menu chalkboard special. (The queso is also available as an appetizer, and is topped with chopped brisket.)īurgers are also a good choice. A brisket cheesesteak is a much better version of the Philly classic, loaded with smoky beef and grilled peppers and onions and drizzled with queso. If a traditional BBQ experience is not your thing, BBQ-oriented pizzas and sandwiches are also available.
3 STACKS FRISCO MENU MAC
Six-cheese Mac and cheese was surprisingly bland. Sides were inconsistent: the cheesy corn bake was under seasoned, but green beans and fried okra were both spot-on.

This is the way I recommend going: pulled pork, baby back ribs, and both varieties of house made sausage (poblano cheddar and black pepper) were all excellent. The offerings are standard BBQ options you'll find one-, two- and three-meat plates, offered with sides, as well as meats by the pound. Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff, and the Park Cities all had their local spots in Pecan Lodge, Lockhart Smokehouse, and Peggy Sue's BBQ, but Lakewood had… Baker's Ribs? Or Back Country BBQ if you wanted to drive. The team behind 3 Stacks Smokehouse in Frisco opened Lakewood Smokehouse in January 2016 in an area surprisingly lacking in BBQ options. Recently I figured I'd avoided it long enough.

Nothing could replace my favorite Lebanese buffet, so when Lakewood Smokehouse opened a few months later, I was resistant to giving it a shot. I was one of the many that mourned the loss of Ali Baba from its location in Lakewood Village.
